About Shooting Star Basketball Association
Shooting Star Basketball Association (SSBA) brings quality basketball experiences to youth in the West Hants Municipality and surrounding communities.
Whether you’re a returning SSBA athlete, or you want to try out the sport, SSBA offers an opportunity for all youth ages 5-15 (as of Jan. 1, 2025) to play, develop their skills, learn the importance and excitement of teamwork, and most importantly: HAVE FUN!
We offer a chance for kids to play basketball at a variety of age levels:
- Little Dribblers (ages 5, 6, & 7 as of Jan.1, 2025) *Please note: Registration for little dribblers (U8) will be open later this week*
- U10 (ages 8 & 9 as of Jan. 1, 2025) $315
- U12 (ages 10 & 11 as of Jan. 1, 2025) $315
- U14 (ages 12 & 13 as of Jan. 1, 2025) $315
- U16 (ages 14 & 15 as of Jan. 1, 2025) $315
SSBA teams (U10 and up) will play in the Metro League. All games will take place in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM).

If the basketball fees are of any concern, please don't hesitate to contact us. There are some supports available such as KidSport Nova Scotia and JumpStart.
